GeoRes4Dev 2026 scholarship - Call for application - PhD or postdoctorat scholarship - UNILU
As part of the "Geological Resources for Development – GeoRes4Dev" project funded by the Belgian cooperation, the Geodynamics and Mineral Resources Unit of the Royal Museum for Central Africa is pleased to launch a call for applications for a PhD OR a Postdoctoral scholarship in mineral resources, in collaboration with the University of Lubumbashi.
The call entails:
- A 3-year PhD scholarship OR a 2-year Postdoctoral scholarship, to be enrolled at the University of Lubumbashi, with the theme: “Historic socio-environmental impacts of large-scale mining, current effects of artisanal mining, community expectations, and future environmental risks linked to prospective lithium extraction in Manono.”

Deadline for submitting the application: 14/06/2026 at 11:59 pm (local time).
Please note that the Research Proposal and Cover Letter must be in English.
Candidates selected for an interview will be notified in the week following the closing of the call. Interviews will be held online the second half of June, and in English.
