Welcome to GeoRes4Dev

The GeoRes4Dev project aims to strengthen the academic capacities of African partners by contributing to graduate training programs through courses, seminars, and fieldwork. It also provides academic, logistical, and financial support (including scholarships) for thesis work at the Master’s, DEA, and Doctorate levels, as well as for post-doctoral research carried out by young partner researchers within our geological themes.

Our research focuses on critical georesources and their impact on society, including:

  • Geological history and geodynamics
  • Studies of mineral, water, and archaeological resources
  • Paleoclimate research in the karst of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo
  • Scientific contributions supporting the recognition of these karst systems as geological heritage sites
  • Analysis of structural and geodynamic conditions for the formation of mineralization and karst

The project also develops a database of collected data, accessible to partner institutions.
In addition, GeoRes4Dev is preparing a new permanent exhibition. Information sessions on our themes for professionals, official bodies, and other societal players.

Each fellow would cover a part of the Geores4dev project hypotheses, in a complementary manner, by dealing with a specific theme within one of the three different research areas:

  • Grotte

    Kongo area

The cross-border region between the Pool and the Atlantic coast.

  • Gold-mine

    Lualaba area

    SW of the Ex-Katanga region.

  • Mission de terrain avec les boursiers
